Inspired by the aristocratic display of the iconic Ojude Oba festival, this collection fuses traditional Yoruba heritage with contemporary tailoring precision to transform a contemporary university space into a spectacle of cultural prestige. Mimicking the regal display of the famous OjudeOba of Ijebuland, on Day 5 of the Final Year, this ensemble symbolizes the students’ transition from academic studies to cultural authority and societal leadership. Each garment, a tailored assertion of legacy and ambition, captures the shared identity and competitive spirit of the graduating class, presenting them as modern kings and queens of their own destiny.

Sartorial Juxtaposition: The collection is directly inspired by the juxtaposition of the ancient, royal Ojude Oba tradition against the academic and modern setting of FUNAAB, reimagining traditional fabrics and patterns for a youthful, couture audience. Architectural Minimalist Detailing: The specific minimalist aesthetic is drawn from the clean lines of contemporary African architecture, using a high-density tropical wool blend to achieve structured silhouettes that ground the intricate embroidery motifs. Symbolic Color Palette: The color progression (Midnight Onyx, Pristine Ivory, Cerulean Traditional) is inspired by different stages of power: black for authority and protection, white for clarity and leadership, and the bronze-gold fila hat as a crown of achievement, while the chest sunburst and geometric embroidery pattern is a abstract reference to youth energy (students) and Yoruba symbols.
